Action plan should be prepared for establishing Food Processing Units according to regional crops

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini today reviewed key developmental projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure and providing modern facilities to citizens. He directed officials to ensure that all projects are completed with high quality and within the stipulated timeframe so they can be dedicated to the public at the earliest.
Chairing a high-level meeting with senior officials here, the Chief Minister conducted a detailed review of the ongoing work across various departments, including the Chief Secretary’s Office, Home Department, Labour Department, Industries and Commerce, Fisheries, and AYUSH, among others.
He further instructed the officials to formulate policies and prepare a framework of rules focused on the welfare of the four key pillars of a developed India, youth, women, farmers and the poor. Emphasizing the need for people-centric governance, the Chief Minister said that policy-making should prioritize the genuine needs of these groups and ensure inclusiveness, transparency and effectiveness in the implementation of all government schemes.
The Chief Minister has directed the preparation of a detailed action plan to promote the plywood industry in Yamunanagar, with the objective of revitalizing and supporting this long-established sector in the region. In addition, instructions have been issued to develop a comprehensive master plan for the revival of the metal industry in Jagadhri.
While reviewing the Labour Department projects, the Chief Minister directed that under the Walk-to-Work policy, the government plans to develop residential facilities for workers in urban areas close to their workplaces. To support this initiative, the potential involvement of corporate institutions under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) should be explored. The implementation of this policy will enable workers to access affordable housing. The Chief Minister also suggested that an action plan be prepared for the development of canteen facilities within these residential areas.
The Chief Minister directed that an action plan be prepared for establishing food processing industries based on the major crops grown in each region. This initiative aims to encourage farmers to diversify beyond traditional crops and align their cultivation with market demand. He further instructed that small clusters be identified, and centres of excellence be developed in accordance with the specific crops of each area.
The Chief Minister directed the formulation of a robust Road Safety Policy aimed at reducing road accidents across the state. He said that all major roads must be free of potholes, and locations with a high frequency of accidents should be identified as “black spots”, with immediate corrective measures undertaken. In view of the approaching winter season and the associated risks of fog and mist, he further instructed that appropriate signage be installed on roads to help prevent accidents and ensure the safety of commuters.
Promote women led start-ups
It was informed in the meeting that special emphasis is being placed on expanding the Haryana Startup Policy to promote women-led startups. The representation of women entrepreneurs has increased from 45 percent to 50 percent, with a target to further raise it to 60 percent. For this purpose, a center is planned to be established in Panchkula in collaboration with NITI Aayog. This center will provide not only fiscal incentives but also specialized training for women entrepreneurs. In addition, it was also informed that an Ayushman Arogya Mandir is being set up alongside every yogashala across the state to promote health and wellness.
